About Bachelor In Physiotherapy

BPT or Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a four-year undergraduate professional course that deals with the science of physical movement and channelising it to prevent disability and diseases of movement. Physiotherapy or physical therapy is an allied health profession that helps people increase, maintain or restore their physical mobility, function, and strength. This science makes use of electrotherapy, evidence-based kinesiology, exercise prescription and shockwave mobility to treat chronic conditions of the bones and soft tissues.

Various specialisation options are available for students in the field of Physiotherapy. A student can opt for a course in Anatomy, Physiology or Biomechanics or other options available as per his or her area of interest. After successfully completing the course, BPT aspirants can find employment opportunities in both the private and government sectors. They also have the option of pursuing independent practice. Graduates can also pursue a Masters of Physiotherapy for their higher studies.

The internship program for six months starts after the candidates clear all these subjects in the final examinations. The internship is best performed in a teaching hospital recognized by the respective university.
